Daneshill Lake - Retford
Description
Fishing at these former gravel workings to the north of Retford is restricted to the forty members of Daneshill Angling Club and with talk of that figure being halved in the near future the chances of obtaining a permit look slim.
Day ticket fishing has been stopped, allegedly due to littering, and on the beautiful Sunday afternoon in February that I walked around I did not see one angler. I couldn't find any information on how to join the angling club, the only notice on the lake was strangely missing a contact name or number. It's almost as though anglers are not wanted at Daneshill Local Nature Reserve.
In short, find somewhere else to go pike fishing!
