Venue Type: Gravel Pits
Description: Pike fishing has recently opened up on the five acre carp lake at Alderfen Fishery, Wroot, Near Doncaster. This gravel pit is heavily stocked with hard fighting commons and very scaly mirrors to mid-20’s. The fish are all English, many of them Leneys or Leney crosses. The lake has many reed fringed bays, points, bars and an island, and with sixteen well spaced pegs there is plenty of variety.
Directions: Directions from Wroot. Turn off the High Street by the Cross Keys Inn onto Firth Lane (signposted to Epworth) Follow Firth Lane for approximately 1 mile. The entrance to Alderfen is on the track on the left at the sharp right-hand bend. Access to the site is by the second gate on the right hand side of this track.
Season: 1st October to 31st March
Day Ticket: Up to 3 Rods: £7.50 per day (Midnight to Midnight).

Rules:
  •  Sea deadbaits only.
  •  No livebaiting.
  •  No lures.
  •  All anglers must use a wire trace and barbless trebles and have an unhooking mat and unhooking tools.
  •  All fish must be returned to the water ASAP.
  •  Minimum 12lb line.
