Damflask Reservoir - Sheffield
| Venue Type: |
Reservoir |
| Description: |
Damflask is a 116 acre Yorkshire Water reservoir providing drinking water to Sheffield's residents for over one hundred years. This excellent coarse and pike fishery, available to fish on a cheap day ticket from dawn until one hour after dusk, is easily accessible as it is surrounded by roads.
Pike to forty pounds have been rumoured in the past, but don't expect to turn up and catch immediately as the depth averages 20 feet and runs to over 100 feet. The steeply sloping margins are popular spots with many fish coming from within a couple of rod lengths.
Tickets can be purchased from a machine on the south side of the reservoir and a bailiff is on hand for tips and advice. |
| Directions: |
From M1 Jct 36 follow A61 towards Sheffield for 7 miles. After Hillsbrough Park turn right onto A6101 for 1 mile. Take B6077 Loxley Road for 2.5 miles. |
