Delves Long Pond
The Island Pond
The Long Pond viewed from the railway bank
| Venue Type: |
Lake |
| Description: |
There are two ponds at this small but popular mixed coarse fishery in the town of Thorne, South Yorkshire. Head for the long pond in search of pike to 20lb and expect plenty of company in the shape of pleasure, match and carp anglers.
There are regular matches on the Island pond with small carp, F1's and other species the target.
The deeper Long Pond produces carp to well over 20lb and is an excellent winter venue, probably owing to food going in all year round. Overall this is a busy venue but well worth a look for pike.
Jill from the Delves Cafe sent this message:- I would just like to inform you of an up coming event. PARTY ON THE PONDS will be held 11th & 12th June 2011. A similar event this October was a huge success, so much so, we are doing it again but on a grander scale.
We will have live bands, bouncy castles, bbq, jacket potatoes, face painting, fair rides, fishing competitions and much much more. |
